Jeanice Dawes, Esq.
Jeanice Dawes is a distinguished attorney with a wide range of experience in family law, child welfare, and civil litigation.
Jeanice is board-certified in Child Welfare Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a testament to her deep expertise in this area. Jeanice is a member of the State Bar of Texas Family Law and Child Welfare Law sections and the Houston Bar Association.
Her legal career began with public service, where she represented the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (commonly known as CPS) at both the Harris County Attorney’s Office and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office.
Following her public service roles, Jeanice spent approximately four years in private practice, where she represented clients across Texas. During this time, she served as an Ad Litem attorney for parents and as an Amicus and Ad Litem attorney for children in child welfare cases. Prior to establishing her own practice, she honed her skills as an Associate Attorney at Jenkins & Kamin, LLP.
With extensive experience in the courtroom, Jeanice is a skilled litigator who has handled numerous bench and jury trials. Her practice focuses on a comprehensive range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, modifications, paternity, adoption, and termination cases.
A native Houstonian, Jeanice earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC). She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, graduating summa cum laude from Tuskegee University in 2002. During her time in law school, she received the UHLC Distinguished Service Award for her work as a student attorney with the UHLC Civil Practice Clinic.
Jeanice is an active member of her community and various professional organizations. She is a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omicron Tau Omega chapter. Outside of her legal career and community service, Jeanice is a proud aunt to four nieces and three nephews. She is also a dog mom to a boxer, Duchess, and a Corgi/Shepherd mix, King.

Janice R. Foster is an experienced Family Law Paralegal with over 12 years of experience supporting attorneys and clients in Texas family law matters. Born and raised in New York, she relocated to Texas in 2004, where she has built a respected career grounded in diligence, organization, and client‑centered service.
Janice has extensive experience handling divorce, custody, SAPCRs, modifications, enforcements, and protective orders. She is known for her ability to manage complex cases from intake through trial preparation, draft accurate legal pleadings, coordinate discovery, and support attorneys through demanding litigation timelines. Her calm, compassionate approach makes her a trusted point of contact for clients navigating emotionally challenging legal matters.
Janice earned her Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies from The Center for Advanced Legal Studies, where she graduated as a Certificate of Honor Graduate. In recognition of her academic excellence and professional commitment, she was inducted into the Center for Advanced Legal Studies’ Chapter of Lambda Epsilon Chi, the national honor society for paralegal studies.
Beyond her legal career, Janice is deeply committed to community service. She operates a nonprofit dance organization that provides children with performance opportunities while bringing joy and connection to senior citizens in nursing homes and assisted‑living facilities, reflecting her passion for service and intergenerational engagement.
Janice is a proud mother of three adult children and a devoted grandmother to two grandchildren. She brings the same integrity, dedication, and care to her professional work as she does to her family and community, making her a valued member of any legal team.
